forty hadith #32
It was related on the authority of Abu Sa'id Sa'd bin Malik bin Sinan al-Khudri,
radiyallahu 'anhu, that the Messenger of Allah,
sallallahu 'alayhi wasallam, said:
"There should be neither harming,
nor reciprocating harm."
Any act that causes harm to others, whether individually or as a community and whether it is beneficial or not beneficial to the one who causes it,
is prohibited in Islam.
Translation of Sahih Bukhari, Book 2: Volume 1, Book 2, Number 10:
Narrated Abu Musa:
Some people asked Allah's Apostle, "Whose Islam is the best? i.e. (Who is a very good Muslim)?" He replied, "One who avoids harming the Muslims with his tongue and hands."
